AARON  USATCH

Aaron Usatch was born in Afghanistan and grew up in both Mexico and Victoria. His maternal grandparents, Rosina and Samuel Lane moved to Victoria from England after both serving during WWII and founded the Old English Inn.

 

After initially pursuing a career as a classical cellist, Aaron decided in his late teens to assist in the  management of the family’s real estate  business and as he had roots in Victoria,  moved permanently to Victoria.

 

Aaron is a licensed and experienced Property Manager/Project Manager with over 20 years of success in working in the real estate industry in both Asset  and Project Management. He is the owner of Old Town Developments Ltd. after purchasing the company from his family. 

 

He is a graduate from UBC Sauder School of Business andanactiveparticipant in the Victoria Business Community.

 

Aaron’s community service includes serving on the Boards of the Victoria Civic Heritage Trust, the Devi Trust Foundation and as a senior project manager with the Saint Vincent de Paul Society.  He is also volunteers at Our Place and is a volunteer community martial arts instructor as the senior instructor (“Sensei”) of a martial arts program through the University of Victoria and assistant senior instructor at the Shaolin-Tzu Martial Arts Academy in Gordon Head.

 

 He holds the rank of “Renshi” or “model warrior”. ( A Samurai rank bestowed by the royal family of Japan’s marital arts organisation through ceremonial knighting)

 

He is fluent in Spanish, French and English and has a martial arts-based understanding of spoken Japanese.

 

In his spare time Aaron likes to spend time with his family, travel, motorcycle, run, study ancient history, Asian philosophy and Martial Arts. He also enjoys collecting antique weaponry. 

 

Aaron lives in Victoria, BC with his wife and daughter.
